Airbnb services are expanding with grocery delivery, airport pickup, luggage storage, car rentals and FIFA World Cup 2026 experiences, giving travellers more trip planning options in one app.
Airbnb services are being expanded in a summer update designed to make trips more convenient and, in the company’s words, more meaningful. The platform is moving beyond accommodation and toward a fuller travel hub that covers arrival, storage, transport and selected experiences.
Grocery delivery and pre-arrival setup
One of the new Airbnb services is grocery delivery. Guests can order shopping that will be waiting at their rental when they arrive. In selected cities, hosts can even collect the order and prepare the home before check-in.
This service is being delivered with Instacart and is already available in more than 25 cities in the United States.
Airport pickup with a discount
For travellers who want a smoother first leg, Airbnb services now include airport pickup through a partnership with Welcome Pickups. Guests can book private transport in the app, while the driver tracks the flight and waits at the terminal exit.
Airbnb guests receive a 20% discount on each ride. The service is already operating in more than 160 cities worldwide.
Luggage storage and car rentals
Another addition is luggage storage before check-in or after check-out. Through a partnership with Bounce, travellers can find nearby drop-off points inside the Airbnb app.
Guests receive a 15% discount and access to more than 15,000 locations in 175 cities.
Airbnb services also now make car rental easier. The company says nearly one quarter of Airbnb guests choose to rent a car during their stay. Users can now book directly in the app, which suggests the best car for the group and shows nearby vehicles.
World Cup experiences
The update also adds exclusive experiences linked to the FIFA World Cup 2026. Airbnb will offer experiences in six host cities for the tournament.
These include an intimate match-watching experience with Abby Wambach and Julie Foudy, as well as a chance to train on the pitch with Argentine football icon Javier Mascherano.
Brian Chesky, Airbnb’s co-founder and CEO, said the company is building a platform that makes travel not only more convenient, but also more meaningful.
For international travellers, the practical takeaway is simple: Airbnb services are becoming more useful before arrival, during the stay and for selected event-based trips. Availability still depends on city, partner coverage and the specific service being offered.
