Bangkok flood parking is available at 11 MRTA rail-station facilities for motorists affected by flooding. Two sites close at noon on September 28; the other nine remain free through October 2.
The Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) is offering Bangkok flood parking at 11 rail-station facilities as temporary help for people dealing with floods in Bangkok and nearby areas. The offer covers cars and motorcycles, but the departure deadline depends on the station.
Drivers should identify the site they plan to use before leaving a vehicle. Two locations have an earlier cutoff, while the remaining sites stay available for several more days. The different dates make the station name as important as the general offer.
Two locations close on September 28
Parking at Si Iam on the Yellow Line and Min Buri on the Pink Line is free until noon on Monday, September 28, according to The Nation. Drivers using either site should retrieve their vehicles before that deadline.
The other nine designated facilities are available through Friday, October 2. The locations span the Blue, Purple, Green and Orange lines. MRTA’s list includes park-and-ride buildings at Lat Phrao and Lak Song on the Blue Line; Khlong Bang Phai, Sam Yaek Bang Yai, Bang Rak Noi Tha It and Yaek Nonthaburi 1 on the Purple Line; Khu Khot and Kor Por Aor on the Green Line; and Khlong Ban Ma on the Orange Line.
What drivers need to show
Motorists must present a photograph of the vehicle and proof of ownership to staff at the parking facility. MRTA also asks users to follow staff instructions and leave vehicles only in designated areas.
These requirements apply to the station parking in the MRTA announcement. They do not mean that every station car park is included. Before entering, drivers should confirm that they have reached one of the named locations. They can also check the relevant line’s public-relations channel for announced changes.
Check the deadline before leaving a vehicle
The offer is temporary, and its two end dates make it important to check the station. A driver using Si Iam or Min Buri faces a September 28 noon deadline. The other nine listed sites have an October 2 deadline.
Anyone relying on the measure should use a designated facility, bring the required vehicle photograph and ownership proof, and retrieve the vehicle by the applicable cutoff. MRTA provides free parking at the named sites. The announcement does not establish that every rail station or commercial car park is participating.
The practical distinction is straightforward: the same temporary offer covers 11 facilities, but not all remain available for the same length of time. Drivers should match the station to its deadline and follow the instructions of the staff on site. That keeps the two early-closing locations separate from the other nine facilities and avoids treating the offer as citywide parking access.
