Siam Paragon is preparing a major transformation for its 20th anniversary, with three new attractions led by Siam Paragon and backed by a 1.25 billion baht investment to reinforce Bangkok’s tourism appeal.

Why the expansion matters

The Bangkok complex already has an international reputation, helped by projects such as Sea Life Bangkok, described as one of the largest aquariums in Southeast Asia. It draws more than 2.5 million visitors a year, and the new development is designed to raise the site’s profile even further. A separate marketing budget of 200 million baht supports the launch.

For visitors, the upgrade means Siam Paragon is aiming to be more than a shopping stop. The plan is to strengthen its role as a destination for entertainment, family activities and dining in one place.

NEXTOPIA: a prototype for tomorrow

The most ambitious addition is NEXTOPIA, a 15,000-sq-m prototype of the “world of tomorrow”. The project cost 850 million baht and was created with 50 innovation partners and 30 Friends of NEXTOPIA communities.

It is presented not only as an attraction but also as an educational platform. Visitors will encounter interactive technologies that blend entertainment with learning, while the concept emphasizes sustainability and co-creation. The aim is to encourage guests to think about the future in a more responsible way.

MELAND: indoor play on a large scale

On the fifth floor, MELAND will open as Thailand’s first indoor theme park with a global character. The 5,000-sq-m venue will feature more than 100 attractions and 500 interactive experiences. Its budget is 400 million baht.

The project is meant to become the region’s largest edutainment attraction. It is positioned as a place where children and adults can play together, build creativity and explore in a modern, safe environment.

Dining Phenomenal and the visitor effect

The third pillar of the transformation is Siam Paragon Dining Phenomenal, which reinforces the centre’s position as Asia’s largest dining destination. The complex already offers more than 700 restaurants, cafés and bars, ranging from famous Bangkok street-food names to Michelin-starred restaurants.

A new EATELIER Dining Entertainment zone will add 30 new venues. Food will be paired with art and music, turning dinner into a broader experience. In the evenings, live concerts and DJ performances will add another layer of activity and create a new meeting point for residents and visitors alike.

The three attractions are opening alongside Siam Paragon’s 20th anniversary. The centre already welcomes more than 100 million people a year and has won nine global awards. With NEXTOPIA, MELAND and Dining Phenomenal, Bangkok is being positioned for another step forward as a global tourism capital.
