Thailand’s tourism growth is running at a strong pace in 2025, with more than 22 million foreign arrivals already recorded and revenue above 1 trillion baht. The latest figures also show shifting source markets and continued government efforts to keep travel easier.

Thailand’s tourism growth in 2025 is moving quickly, with foreign arrivals passing 22 million and tourism revenue climbing above 1 trillion baht. The numbers underline how strongly the country has recovered after the pandemic and how firmly it remains one of the world’s leading holiday destinations.

Arrivals and revenue

From 1 January to 7 September 2025, Thailand recorded 22,387,817 foreign arrivals. Those visitors generated 1.037 trillion baht in revenue, according to the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.

The scale of that performance matters for airlines, hotels and destination planners because it signals sustained demand across the country’s tourism economy.

Main source markets

The largest visitor groups so far this year came from:

  • China – 3.16 million
  • Malaysia – 3.13 million
  • India – 1.61 million
  • Russia – 1.21 million
  • South Korea – 1.05 million

These markets continue to shape Thailand’s tourism mix, with regional travel still playing a major role.

Early September trends

In the first week of September alone, Thailand welcomed 508,341 foreign tourists, or an average of 72,620 per day.

Growth was strongest from Singapore, which rose 47.27% on the back of school holidays. India also posted a sharp increase of 29.89% during national holidays.

At the same time, several markets softened. Malaysia fell 14.87%, South Korea dropped 6.04%, and China declined 4.66%.

Entry support and outlook

The government is backing tourism through the removal of the mandatory TM.6 form on entry for many travellers, extra promotion under “Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025,” and encouragement for airlines to open more routes.

The official free TM.6 form is available only on the TDAC Immigration website. Travellers should avoid other sites and intermediaries offering paid “entry card” services, which can be a scam for both money and personal data.

For visitors focused on Planning a Thailand trip, the current picture is straightforward: demand remains high, entry has been simplified for many travellers, and further growth is expected in the coming months. The ministry expects support from holidays in Malaysia, rising interest from India and additional promotions.

Thailand continues to hold a strong position as one of Asia’s most attractive holiday destinations, with better infrastructure and new flight connections adding momentum.
